Hi! My name is Holly, and I love my job.

Hello there! I am Holly Ferguson. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology (with a Childhood Development emphasis) and a Master’s degree in Education (with an Elementary School emphasis). The thing that gives me the most joy and fulfillment is helping young children fall in love with learning. I founded Elm Tree Preschool to do my part in helping the next generation rise up higher than we can dream possible.

I am acutely aware of the trust you extend to me by enrolling your child. I appreciate you landing on this page to get to know me a bit more, and I hope you and I get to meet in person soon!

A little about me

I am married to a wonderful man named Craig. He and I raised five wonderful children here in Bountiful, Utah (see above photo). My kids are absolute rays of sunlight in my life and I am so proud of each of them. I have two little granddaughters who make me laugh with their enthusiasm for all the little things in life. I am learning so much about gratitude and cheerfulness from these little girls!

All my life, I have loved reading. The library and I have a long-term relationship that is rivaled by none. While I was raising my kids, it was extremely important to me and Craig that we teach them how to love reading as well. When kids like to read, half the battle of education has already been won! I also love museums, studying languages and history, attending symphonies or musical performances, and chocolate covered cherries.

Why I started Elm Tree

Elm Tree Preschool has been a dream of mine for a long time. After raising five kids, and helping each one of them create an individual educational path, I went back to school, earned my Master’s degree in Education, and began working in Special Education.  Now I am excited to bring all the experience and lessons I’ve learned over the past 25 years to help your child thrive! 

Each child has a unique blend of learning styles, strengths and struggles.  The key to success in academics is individualizing the learning process for each child. All children are creative, intelligent, and eager to learn.  It is my job as their teacher to identify how your child learns and foster their strengths, while giving them strategies to grow through their challenges.

At Elm Tree Preschool your child will learn through experimentation, exploration, and creative play. My goal is not just to educate, but to help each child learn to love learning!

Elm Tree Preschool is different. I know every child can shine. I believe that I can prepare these young kids to be at the top of the class on their first day of kindergarten. I am passionate and driven to elevate these beautiful young minds so their trajectory is towards excellence.
